You Tube presentation by ENT specialist Dr. Declan Costello who is himself a singer. The first part covers a bit of vocal anatomy and physiology including live video of how the vocal folds function. From about 11 minutes, he describes a scientific study he participated in comparing singing, speaking and shouting at different volumes and measuring the aerosols and droplets produced. He ends with some basic guidelines for choirs. The bottom line is: singing produces only slightly more aerosols/droplets than speaking but, in both cases, volume matters.
