Come celebrate 40 years of song with the Malaspina Choir as we perform our favourites from 1970 to 2010! We’ve invited our founding director Bruce More as well as former director John Capon to help celebrate this gala occasion. Join us for some great singing, some reminiscing and a lot of fun, all in one feature-packed show.
Enjoy refreshments and conversation with your family and friends at the Gala Celebration that follows the concert at the Port Theatre. Tickets for the Gala are $15, and may be purchased with your season ticket, or separately at the Port Theatre Ticket Centre.
Sing-along Messiah

Calling all Handel’s Messiah fans! Here’s your chance to participate in a sing-along performance of this great work with the Malaspina Choir, the Nanaimo Chamber Orchestra, and a quartet of soloists. Join the chorus and have a great time singing. Not a singer? Just come and listen to this incomparable music. And as is the tradition, concert proceeds will be shared with a local charity, Nanaimo’s Child Development Centre.
Nanaimo Sings! Gala Concert

Experience the wealth of choral music in Nanaimo with this second biennial celebration of local choirs. Malaspina Choir, the city’s oldest and largest ensemble, will give a concert of its own and then join with other area choirs to perform works in the concert finale.
